Chief Executive Officer
Sonny Boateng serves as the Chief Executive Officer of ApriSolar and is responsible for the company’s strategy and growth. Sonny brings nearly 2 decades of executive management experience, with a proven track record of improving above the line and below the line financial performance of multinational organizations.
Prior to founding ApriSolar, Sonny was the General Manager for Tourvest, where he looked after the British Airways’ Inflight Retail operation for all short-haul routes as well as the global ground retail operation for Tourvest. Prior to that Sonny’s last held position was as the General Manager for Menzies Aviation, looking after the company’s Norway division. Sonny was the statutory director of the local entity and led the company’s turnaround, from a loss-making business to the highest grossing business unit in Menzies’ Continental Europe network. As an investor for VC4Africa Sonny assessed the investment and valuations of company’s in different sectors and at various stages of their development cycle. This included company’s in Manufacturing, Fin Tech, Recycling and Renewable Energy.
As part of ApriSolar’s Impact program, Sonny gives back to local communities in Europe and Africa by being a mentor to under privileged young people in Ghana and The Netherlands. He sits on the board of My Child International School and is a Patron of Sherwood Warriors; a youth organization providing coaching and job opportunities for young people in the Central Region of Ghana.
Sonny is a native Dutch speaker and is fluent in Norwegian, Akan and English.
Sonny is a Master of Business Administration (MBA) candidate at Oxford University – Saïd Business School, he received a Business and Finance degree from the University of Westminster.
