The future of energy must be sustainable

THE NEED FOR ALTERNATIVE SOURCES  OF ENERGY

The growing need for electricity is a trend that is going to only get bigger as emerging markets develop and we need a new source of power generation to meet our electricity demand and sustain our planet. We believe that we are all custodians of our world and so meeting the energy demand of the future must not only be cost-efficient it must also be sustainable.
Climate Change is one of the biggest threats to our planet/our home and our future. The primary sources of greenhouse gas emissions are electricity and heat generated from oil, gas, and coal. These hydrocarbons, produced by 20 companies, account for a third of all carbon emissions in the fossil fuel sector. Higher electricity demand was responsible for over half of the growth in energy needs between 2010 and 2018.

Decentralized Energy

As national grids continue to deteriorate, and energy demand keeps rising, the need for distributed energy generation is increasing.

High Efficiency

All over the world, but especially in developing countries a significant amount of electricity that is generated is lost during transmission and distribution. By decreasing the distance electricity has to travel we are decreasing the amount of energy that is lost. Reducing transmission losses has a direct positive impact on the cost of electricity for end users. It also allows owners of energy plants to get a better yield on their investments.

Micro grids and mini grids are various types of distributed energy plants that allow us to provide clean energy where it is needed most. The grids are modular in nature thus can be scaled to meet current and future demand. By designing a system that capitalizes on the available renewable energy resource at each site, our solution design will produce a higher energy yield per square meter.

Smart Grid

Imagine a power grid that uses AI technology to monitor energy production and intelligently store or meet the demand at any given time, that is the Smart Grid.

Smart Investment

We have adopted Smart Grid Technologies to a)manage and b)optimize the energy distribution of our installations and prolong the life of our assets. Peak load shaving and load shifting are key functionalities that not only give our installations a competitive advantage in terms of engineering, it also delivers cost saving and in some markets is an additional source of revenue.

Smart grid technology allows us to locate issues and faults more efficiently. The energy mix is changing by adopting Smart Grid technology into our solution designs, we can generate power from multiple renewable energy sources in one plant. Even though the characteristics of each energy source is different, a Smart Grid integration will allow for a homogeneous output of electricity to the grid.

Lifecycle Management

There is an abundance of more sustainable sources of energy generation,  to sustain our planet/our home and our future.

Sustainable by Design

Solar power is currently the fastest growing renewable energy source. Other sources such as hydro, wind and storage, follow closely behind in replacing hydrocarbon energy sources used globally today. Our project approval process considers the most abundant sustainable natural resource for each location. We then design best in-class solutions together with our OEM partners to meet the energy demand.

We design our projects to be sustainable by taking into consideration the whole life-cycle of the equipment. Our OEM partners are selected based on circular economy norms; this means that sustainability was at core of their design process and the assets we purchase to build our plants are mostly recyclable at the end of useful life.
